The Coin-less Slots
So Slot machines have lost a little of their charm. The clang, clang, clang has been replaced with hmmmm hmmmm (printing of a ticket that highlights your winning) the coin-less slot machine. Personally I think the slot machine has lost some charm because of this new innovation that strives to reduce casino operating costs.
Remember when we all use coins to operate slots they use to have an individual stock the machines with coins, couriers where running around casinos with cases full of cash, heck remember all the coin holders that people use to walk around with. So all these costs or overhead are now removed and the casino can make even more money by the slot operation cost reduction.
What I think they have missed is the older players truly liked handling the coins. Sure the new kids like the ticket system as this is all they know but us old girls we are kinda sentimental to the old way. Telling if coins where hot or cold was a signal that a machine was ready to payout a big jackpot or perhaps had not been played in a decade. The casino ambience as well was terrific hearing all these little coin sounds. Sure the coin system on slots may be gone like the dinosaur but it was a real fun element of playing slots and it will be missed. For those few casinos that have yet to convert to these automated ticket systems tell us where you are as you will have a lot of customers who treasure slots that use coins.
